Did you know you can double your donation with a volunteer grant?
Volunteer grant programs are corporate giving programs created to encourage volunteerism in communities where employees live and work. Through these programs, companies provide monetary grants to organizations where employees volunteer on a regular basis. In fact, many employers (40% of Fortune 500 companies) will offer a grant to the Franklin Township Food Bank if you volunteer with us. The amount of the grant and the number of volunteer hours vary by company but they are usually around $8-15 per hour with a minimum of 10 hours per year.
Some Fortune 500 companies that are offering Volunteer Grants are:
Chevron | Google | Verizon | Microsoft | Conoco Phillips | Allstate | Adobe | HCA | Lilly | Boeing | Discover | Starbucks | Kraft | BP | Harley Davidson | Exxon Mobil | Fannie Mae | eBay | AAA | Pepsi | Genworth | Goodrich | Heinz | Gap, Old Navy & Banana Republic | 3M | Master Card | American Express| Capital One | Bank of America /Merrill Lynch | Direct TV | Dell | Aetna | Cisco | State Farm | General Mills | Car Max |
If you do not see your company above, please ask your Human Resources Department or search on your company’s website for “Volunteer Grants”. You are putting in the time volunteering, let your employer show they appreciate what you are doing (an added perk!) by making a donation on your behalf to your favorite charity.
