While the holidays are known for giving, it presents a tremendous challenge to the local food banks to offer a holiday meal to the families they serve. To help local food banks when they need it most, Venus Jewelers is teaming up with the Franklin Food Bank to “Feed a Franklin Family” for the holidays where customers are provided an opportunity to round up their purchases to the nearest dollar amount. While the individual donations may be nominal, their collective sum is powerful.
Venus Jewelers will be dollar matching every donation made between November 24th through December 9, 2017, up to $1500, with the goal of providing traditional holiday meals to Franklin Township families for the holidays. $40 provides a healthy holiday meal for six, including turkey and traditional fixings.
“Thanksgiving and Christmas remind us all about the power of giving, but people continue to battle hunger and food insecurity 365 days a year,” said Dr. Peter Stavrianidis, principal of Venus Jewelers. “Our goal is to help the Franklin community at the most critical time possible, which helps bridge the large demand for holiday food packages at local food banks. Thanks to the leadership and volunteers of the Franklin Food Bank we are able to give back in a meaningful way to a community that has been our home for 38 years.”
